Anyway! I made some delicious pork shogayaki today. Pork shogayaki is a delicious traditional Japanese meal which consists of pork marinated in an aromatic sauce with side vegetables. The vegetables I used are okra and cabbage.
This recipe was so easy, I wanted to show you guys how to make it yourselves! It's perfect for when you want to eat something different and very tasty, only without wasting so much time. Here is a recipe for pork shogayaki:
Ingredients:
- 6 Pork Slices
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Water
- 1/2 tbsp grated ginger
- 1/2 tbsp grated garlic
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- Flour, for dusting
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- 1-1 1/2 tbsp canola oil
- Combine the soy sauce, water, ginger, garlic, and sugar in a bowl. Mix until the sugar dissolves. Set aside for later.
- Trim the excess fat from the pork slices with kitchen shears. Lightly dust the slices with flour (This will keep the pork from becoming dry). Season with ground pepper on one side of the pork slices.
- Add canola oil to a skillet. Tilt the skillet to evenly distribute the oil.
- Place the pork slices in the skillet. Make sure not to let the slices overlap.
- Pour the sauce from step 1 over the pork slices. Fry the slices at medium heat, flipping occasionally.
- Cook thoroughly, until the center is no longer pink.
- Serve with steamed cabbage and boiled okra. Enjoy!
